Research Interests:
1.Nanofiber-Mediated Light-Matter Interactions
Nanofibers are tapered optical fibers with centimeter-scale lengths and submicron-scale diameters, fabricated from standard single-mode fibers using the flame-brushing technique. Through nanofibers, electromagnetic fields are strongly confined near the fiber surface as evanescent waves, enabling interactions with one-dimensional atomic arrays trapped in optical lattices.
2. Optomechanical Cooling in Nanofibers
Thermal radiation in nanofibers induces intrinsic torsional-mode vibrations. When linearly polarized light propagates through a birefringent nanofiber, it generates a torsional force. For the first time, we experimentally observed cooling phenomena in such a torsional optomechanical system
